A summary of the website for all Bark.com clients interested in me and my services.
I am a full Heilpraktiker (licensed alternative practitioner), meaning I have not only approval for psychotherapy but for the entire scope of healing arts. However, I’m not financially dependent on this alone, which I consider important. My interests extend further, particularly having spent many years with computers and open-source software (Linux since kernel 1.2 :-)). Hence my second therapeutic pillar: Systemic Therapy.
I gain my own stability through over 40 years of meditation in various Buddhist traditions. I have two adult children and live and work in Lübeck, often also online.
My main method, however, is mindfulness, specifically the way it’s practiced in Hakomi. I met Ron Kurtz, the founder, by chance in Ahrensburg near Hamburg and immediately identified with his work. Today, after 40 years, Hakomi is the oldest and most mature psychotherapy that uses mindfulness.
What is mindfulness? It is the possibility to bring our entire value and perception system into new equilibrium states and thus to heal. By exploring the inner in mindfulness, it is possible to re-evaluate old behaviors that were once important for us, bringing them into today’s life situation and integrating necessary adaptations.
More technically explained: We reweight our impressions while using them, so we work on our running system, and this only works if we feel safe and relaxed, otherwise the inner self won’t allow profound changes. Ensuring this safe and relaxed environment is the therapist’s main task. Ron Kurtz called this part of therapeutic work “Loving Presence”.
As a Heilpraktiker, I also keep all other factors in view, such as nutrition, physical fitness, and a holistic sense of connectedness to one’s physical and mental environment. Here it can be helpful to direct mindfulness from inner emotional states to moments that are not filled with language and thinking and are still apparently conscious, experiencing awareness without content. This leads to a new way of experiencing the world with all its contents.
Billing for my therapeutic work is always your responsibility. I cannot bill through health insurance companies. My invoices also usually cannot be submitted to private insurance companies as they are not created according to the fee schedule for Heilpraktiker.
